Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him. And he shall direct thy path. -Proverbs 3: 5-6
To God be the Glory for the things that he has done... I want to thank God for his many blessings and for allowing me to serve as your Grand Worthy Matron. I pray that he will continue to guide my life and I also solicit all of your prayers as we begin another year. I stand before you with a humble heart knowing this was not an easy decision for some of us. I just ask that you pray daily for this Prince Hall Grand Chapter, Order of Eastern Star, State of Washington and Jurisdiction, and all your Grand Officers. I thank you for the opportunity to serve as your Grand Worthy Matron. The journey here has been long and sometimes difficult, but God knows just how much we can bear. This organization has definitely brought me closer to God, because one needs to believe and depend on a higher power in order to be successful.
I'm here to serve this Grand Chapter and ask all of you to join me. I believe the majority of us continue to be 'Stars' because we have a deep love for this organization. Hold on to your Light and don't allow anyone to dim it. To our Five Colors the heart of this organization. I pray you took the opportunity to listen and learn during our Session. I remember my days back in the corner with Sis. Peggy, Sis.Alma, Sis.Vallerie, Sis. Gail just to mention a few and all the problems we resolved without a single vote. This is a special time for you, enjoy it because it won't be long before you will serve as a Grand Officer or as Grand Worthy Matron. I appreciate your attendance, your support, and look forward to working with all of you this year. If time permits, I'd like to setup a meeting just for you to hear your thoughts, concerns and suggestions. To all elected and appointed officers thank you for your commitment to this Grand Chapter and we look forward to another successful year. To my Past Grand Matrons and Past Grand Patrons, I look to you to keep me focused and on track. I respect your knowledge, commitment, and years of service to this Grand Chapter. My promise to all members is to serve this Grand Chapter to the best of my abilitay. It is time for us to move forward and 1 look forward to the challenges ahead of us. I do believe and I can feel those O.E.S. spirits who were here before us. Yes, they do return for their regular Chapter meetings and for our Annual Grand Session each year. They're always on time and out number those faithful members who attend regular Chapter meetings and our Annual Grand Session. I want them to be proud of us and the legacy we're leaving for future generations.
There is plenty of work to do this year for all Grand Chapter members and since I don't know everyone’s abilities or talents, if you have an expertise that you want to share with the Grand Chapter, please feel free to let me know and we’ll utilize your gift(s).
A Special Thank You to my advisor, PGM Bennie Sue Wright who is always there to share her knowledge and time. She will be the first to tell you, "I'm hard-headed'", but willing to listen and learn from my mistakes and achievements. To Olympic Chapter #2, Thank you for your support and encouragement. You're always there when I need you most and I love and appreciate each of you.

What God Has Promised
God hath not promised skies always blue, Flower-strewn pathways all our lives through; God hath not promised sun without rain, Joy without sorrow, peace without pain.
But God hath promised strength for the day, Rest for the laborer, Light for the way. Grace for the trials, Help from above. Unfailing sympathy, &Undying love.
Fraternally,
Marcia L. McDaniel Grand Worthy Matron
