Feeding the Hungry Program

On the 1st and 3rd Wednesday's of Every Month, from 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm we will be feeding the hungry in the Kitchen area of the Grand East in Seattle.  Our intention is to give back to the neighborhood and the community by helping our less fortunate neighbors through these tough times.

Still Mentoring the Youth.

Good evening SiStars and Brothers,

We had a wonderful time with our Mentoring Our Girls Session on Saturday, September 25th! There were 15 girls present ranging in ages from 5-13. With six SiStars present, the girls were well taken care of! We focused on the topics of making new friends, respecting themselves and respecting others. In the end we also managed to have fun at the pool as well!

Sock Drive
Ok everyone, sock time is almost here.  Last year we did excellent and I know we can do it again.  Remember we have homes and warm shoes so lets help those who something as simple as a pair of socks.  Last year we blessed over 850 people during the project Homless Connect Event and my goal is to provide over 1100 pair this year.  

Mens socks are are my biggest need.  I have over several hundred pair now but most of them are women's low cut socks. 

If you don't have time to shop for socks, I will take a $2.00 or more per person and buy all I need.  (KMart has 10 packs right now for $6.00, white or black, ankle, low quarter and mid leg for men)

I need all socks or cash to me by October 9th as I need time to shop and then to to deliver these to the Tacoma Dome before the event.  My good friend Deanne from World Vision and I will be volunteering on site all day on the 14th. 

Any leftover socks will be distributed equally to the following organizations:

United Way Pierce County

Shiloh Baptist Church Hands Up Ministry

University Place Nursing Home

Salvation Army
